Friday at Metrocon! I decided to go on a whim (though I had PLANNED to go on Saturday and already had a ticket). I went because there was a panel I wanted to see about voice acting, which I have gotten into in the past six months. I just wore a cute Steven Universe–inspired outfit and brought my uke.

Fun moments to note:

• I hung out with Steven Universe nerds a couple times to play music and enjoy what they were blasting on the boom box.

• I went to Bang Zoom’s “how to audition” panel for voice acting and took a bunch of notes. Very informative!

• A nice lady that I bought food from at the convention asked me where I got my “little guitar” and liked my dress. She asked to take my photo.

• Someone saw my ukulele, told me they remembered me being dressed as Steven Universe last year, and said they had wanted to come to this con this year dressed as Steven because of me but couldn’t find the shirt. They had brought their ukulele too.

• One person complimented my Steveny outfit and said she would be dressed as Pearl and coming with a Rose Quartz tomorrow. I will definitely look for them.

• My Lyft driver on the way home requested a song on the ukulele and she and I ended up singing car karaoke the whole way home. She told me I had a chill vibe and that the singing had been therapeutic.
