Fred Visit! Day 7

Got my comic posted in the early morning before Fred got up, then I made him an Ivy shirt and he wore it to Kanapaha Gardens, where we looked at wonderful plant life and stuff. I love it there. It is so cool. We saw these lilypads that looked like gigantic serving platters, and these loofah plants that looked like gigantic hanging zucchini or something (Fred pretended to eat one), and we saw a couple snakes and lots of bugs and some birds. And trees. I like trees.

I paused for a nap in the clubhouse and then we went to Beef ‘O’ Brady’s for food–I got a macaroni kids’ meal for the 12 and under crowd. Hey, I wear kids’ clothes, I take children’s dosages of medicine; why not eat their portion sizes too? It was great.

Mac N Cheese

We went BACK to the Gardens and moseyed, and when we came back we watched another Shinobu after making quiche crust dough to chill. I napped and he went to the pool again, and then he came back and showered and we made the rest of the quiche together. After we ate it, we called and harassed Jes because we wanted to find out what she was doing that night and be part of her night o’ weirdness, and so that was cool ’cause we actually got her. After that I read Phred some fun stuff from my secret character files and then we started watching The Dark Crystal. He got to see why some people have pointed out my resemblance to Kira. Har. I’m a muppet.

Fred Visit! Day 6

Good off-work day. This was our campus day. We took the bus onto campus and walked around and repeatedly got lost due to my genius at navigation (though also we were both up for a bit of a walk and weren’t in huge hurries to get anywhere in particular–we were just kinda doing it to do it). We browsed the Music Building and I saw my old theory teacher who looked exactly the same–since I haven’t changed either I think he recognized me. After MUB we wandered around, got on a bus, found the Reitz Union, and ate Wendy’s in the courtyard (I had a fruit cup, Fred had a chili and hamburger combo thing).

I found a weird floor to sleep on in the Reitz Union and tuckered out, and then we got up, played bowling (I didn’t do too bad!) and DDR. I played with a boy who really knew what he was doing, but I kept up with him okay. It was fun! We looked at the poster sale, it made me nostalgic because I did that when I first came to Gainesville and decorated my apartment with some posters from that, which I still have. I stopped browsing when I realized I brought no money.

I saw three people I knew on campus, besides that teacher. THREE. ALL from my work. I saw Erica, Cliff, and Sara (but Sara doesn’t actually work there anymore). Different times. Strange! After the walk around campus and coming home, Fred swam in our pool and I wore my swimsuit but decided not to go in because I was not hot. I decided to stand on the side and get bit by ants instead. Yeah.

We ate at Farah’s that night and I discovered I LIKE FALAFEL (woo!), and when we came home he dropped dead asleep and I finished my comic.

Fred Visit! Day 3

I worked as usual (annoying, boring day) and after work and nap Fred and I watched 2 x 2 Shinobuden on my computer and then went to Sonny’s to eat. I got the salad bar and he got something hilarious called the Pork 3-Way. I teased him that he got porked three ways by Sonny. He said, “I take care of Sonny and Sonny takes care of me.” This is very true. Amusingly enough, I asked him if he owns stock in Sonny’s and he launched into an explanation of why that is impossible: They are family-owned. Why does he know this? He’s been to their website and knows all sorts of weirdass facts about Sonny’s. That boy is serious about his fooding.

Anyway, after being fed we ventured home and watched the Jerry Springer Opera, at which he laughed at the transvestite’s “Talk to the Hand” song. After Fred was tucked safely into bed (well, air mattress), I did an assload of editing (I’ve got a BIG project that is going to take FORRRREVER, but forever’s great at 25 bucks an hour!).

Fred Arrives! Day 1

Phredlet arrived on Saturday, so he was here a full week. We didn’t do a lot on his first day here ’cause it was kind of tiring for both of us; he got delayed in his arrival, and I’d been working all day. Boo. We went grocery shopping and I fed him with shribble soup, and after my nap we got ice cream. While he was sleeping I read some of the horrific tome Eldest, but god, I really don’t want to go on.

Florida Trip with Mikey Day 2

Before leaving St. Pete we visited Bay Pines Veteran’s Hospital and Cemetary to see Mikey’s grandfather. This is a nice monument there dedicated to those who served.

Moi in the wonderful Haslem’s new and used bookstore. It’s so cool in there. I want to live in one of the aisles. Here is me with all the fairy books. (I got to take a couple home!)

Our next stop was Tampa, and we made a beeline for Meg’s house. Here, Mikey bonds with her daughter Katelyn through TICKLE FIGHTING.

Brendon arrived not too much later, and engaged in the Katelyn poking.
