I bought these awesome shoes at the Skechers store for 70% off. They were in the kids’ section and I guess shiny funky shoes that light up in different colors aren’t often in demand by kids in my size, but uh . . . I love them.
I bought my friend Victor a subscription to Universal Yums because he likes interesting international food. This box contains snacks from a bunch of different countries!
Meg and I visited the Orange County Regional History Center. It was a good visit–lots of great history stuff featuring the native people of Florida, the native cultures in the present, the history of agriculture and commerce in the area, and of course, our state’s kinda embarrassing racist history (and present).
But I got to sit in a spaceship and that was cool.
I usually go to my monthly Drink and Draw art club over at Café Hey, but today I got to have some drinking and drawing in my own home!
My sister got me Jam Jar wine for my holiday gift because I joked that I wanted to celebrate something with Manischewitz wine (the yummy juice-like wine I grew up with at family rituals), and my sister asked if she can please get me a wine that’s not Manischewitz. So I tried it.
Verdict: Pretty yum.
The drawing part was with the assistance of my family. Cutiepie Ash got to lie down on the paper and get a trace of his body he could color. Daddy and Mommy (my brother-in-law and sister) did it too. I just drew comics.
And we also played some kind of game driving some kind of vehicle represented by pillows. It was really fun.
It’s so much fun to have breakfast for dinner in the new year. Breakfast is my favorite meal and I love having my family over as a New Year’s tradition so I can spoil them with my favorite foods.
Here we’re having quiche, pancakes, tater tots, and banana muffins, all homemade except the frozen tater tots! We have cheese, sautéed mushrooms, sautéed onions, various syrups (lite syrup, maple syrup, agave nectar, honey), and various toppings and condiments (chocolate chips, powdered sugar, butter, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, ketchup) for adding to our food. So good!
We had a lovely New Year’s Eve at Mom’s. I went over to her house where my sister Patricia, brother-in-law Yusuke, and nephew Ash were staying, and we all lit sparklers, ate ice cream, roasted marshmallows, and played Uno together. We watched the ball drop and talked a little about resolutions!
